You may or may not know that I was pregnant and we now have a beautiful baby girl, Gloria Frances!
Some are aware of our journey and we want to thank each and every one of you… near and far, for your thoughts, prayers, prayer chains, meals, watching the dogs, thoughtful gestures and the list goes on… We are so grateful to be blessed with our family, friends, and amazing support group! And of course Children’s National Hospital and the many doctors, nurses, and entire team looking over Gloria. They love her just as much as we do!
Gloria was born with several heart defects and has been in the cardiac ICU since she was born. After three open heart surgeries, a couple of close calls, coding, a cardiac arrest, stroke, seizures, and brain injury… the doctors have done all they can to repair her own heart. Gloria is in end stage heart failure and is supported by the Berlin Heart (which is basically life support for her heart) while we wait for a heart transplant. It all sounds scary, it is, and God has been with all of us the whole time. We have seen miracle after miracle and know God is at work. The doctors are amazed at how well Gloria is doing considering all that she’s gone through! She’s surpassing all expectations and it’s amazing to watch her grow and get stronger. If you didn’t know the history, you would think she is a perfectly healthy baby.
Please keep the prayers coming as we continue to wait for our miracle. Thank you all again for your support and love over the past several months. It means the world to us and has helped us tremendously.
